Despite all the sarcasm and general confusion Microsoft does provide quite a few troubleshooting utilities.
I’m sure many of you have used Microsoft’s Task Manager, or possible Performance Manager. If you haven’t, it would be worth checking out.
In this video, I will be covering some of the basic things you can use Resource Manager for. For example, you can monitor an application’s disk usage, response time. On the Network side of things, you can identify which IP addresses the application is communication with as well as the port number, packet loss and latency.
Some network analysts thumb their nose at pc utilities, but when your troubleshooting or baselining you need to be able to get information any way possible.
