Why Take this Course?
Virtually every aspect of business today depends on the network. When the applications run slowly or don’t work at all, everyone is looking to you, the network analyst, to fix it. In this course, you will learn how to get in the path of the packets and collect the correct data, then use that data to diagnose the problem using Wireshark. Instead of spending days or weeks trying to get to the root of the problem on your own, let us share the best practices with you.
Course Format:
This course is offered live online. The material will be presented via a screen share and live video. Questions are strongly encouraged! This is a great opportunity to not only learn new tips and techniques but meet others in your field.
Prior to the start of the class, the course material and trace files will be provided for download. Since this is a hands-on class, attendees are encouraged to install Wireshark on their computers prior to the start of class.
We will be using Zoom to present the course material. Loading the Zoom application on your computer prior to class will provide the best viewing experience. In order to view the presentation and use the analyzer, it is recommended that you have at least two monitors.
Course Outline:
The course will begin promptly at 8am PDT. Each of the sections will be covered using both presentation material and live examples. Trace files will be provided to illustrate the Wireshark skills. There will be two short breaks and one 30-minute break for lunch.

The Instructor:
For the last 30 years, Mike Pennacchi has been troubleshooting networks and applications. He has taken his experience digging through packets to get to root of the most complex problems and put together training courses to help you do the same. Mike believes that it is not about keeping these techniques to himself. As a small group in a large industry, it is important to share this information for everyone’s benefit.
Since 1997, Mike has been delivering courses at the Interop tradeshow. During that time, he has been ranked the number one instructor numerous times. Previous attendees have sent their employees and co-workers to his classes year after year. His combination of experience, passion for network troubleshooting, and desire to make the material fun and interesting will make this unlike any class you’ve taken.
