When I mention walk the site some people have asked what that exactly entails. Unfortunately, the answer is “I have no idea”. I don’t go walking around specifically looking for anything. Sometimes I go for a walk after a meeting and then verify what was discussed and might find some discrepancies, other times its as simple as spotting a misunderstanding.
I also go for walks and if I see cable trays, conduit for network cabling, I take notes or photos in case I need to locate them at a later date.
In this project the cabling contractor will be pulling 2 CAT6A runs to where a wireless access point is to be located. It would be very helpful to see where exactly the cables are, how much slack is left, etc.
