Every time I write an article about WiFi packet captures, I get quite a few emails asking me for more information.
Its kind of tough to include to write an article and create a video since every situation has different things to cover and ‘know’. Then you add the different types of tools out there and I could be writing forever 😉
For example VOIP performance troubleshooting is different than if you had a WiFi interferer affecting your performance, etc.
In this example I will use Wireshark to walk through a WiFi capture I got from my NetAlly AirCheck G3. I captured packets of my smartphone connecting to my camera which was configured as a hotspot.
